I-Renew, in collaboration with Occupy Iowa City's Education and Culture Committees will present King Corn and its short sequel, Big River. In King Corn, two film makers from Boston move to Iowa to grow corn by the industrial agribusiness method and trace its path through our food system. Big River traces the consequences of this agricultural practice on the Mississippi River and the people who depend on it for their livelihoods.
If you missed these films during the first screening, here is your chance to see them. If you've never seen them, you owe it to yourself to become aware of the important issues raised in these films. Total screening times for both films is just under 1 1/2 hours, the length of one feature film.
