10 Ways to Help Occupy Iowa City (without getting cold)
- Attend our indoor events and teach-ins. Today there is a Student Assembly at Public Space 1 at 2 p.m. Forward this e-mail to all of your local friends.
- Sign up to provide a meal. We are not able to cook meals onsite, so if you can cook for us or provide a warm meal, please consider helping. There is a laminated sign-up sheet on the board at camp. This link will take you to an online sign-up. http://www.mealtrain.com/?id=mhwatmjxg6kt
If you are unable to buy food but are able to cook, there is food at camp we can send home with you to prepare.
- Donate money at the Credit Union. We are currently trying to raise money for a second arctic tent. Even a couple of dollars helps towards that goal.
- Volunteer to fill the propane tank. It costs about $20.00.
- Sign up to take the dishes home to wash.
- Sign up to carry out recycling.
- Sign up to do a load of laundry or just run some to the laundromat. Quarters and laundry detergent can be provided to those willing to run to the laundromat.
- Volunteer to print some quarter sheets for a rally or other event.
- If you have any unused solar stake-lights, consider donating some. They would be helpful in lighting the path, so as to avoid injuries in the evening.
- Stop by and talk to our occupiers. There is a warm tent and they will likely invite inside if you look cold.
For those who don't mind bundling up and being outdoors for a couple of hours.
